Fireworks fit for 2 states

Quad City Times – Samer Ali positioned his camera carefully along the riverfront in Davenport’s LeClaire Park, hoping to get good images of Fourth of July fireworks over the Centennial Bridge.
Ali took a week of vacation from his food sciences job in Beloit, Wis., so he, his wife and their three children could attend Tuesday night’s bi-state Red, White and Boom celebration. They were among thousands of people who packed the Davenport and Rock Island riverfronts.
“We’ve explored around Madison and Okauchee Lake and other parts of Wisconsin,” Ali said. “We were thinking of going to the east coast, but if we ever move to the east we’ll have to travel 1,000 miles to come back here. We haven’t explored this area yet, so we decided we’d come here.”
